The quantitative risk ratings generated by Forensic Edge provide investors with an efficient way to measure and identify hidden risks that are often overlooked by conventional
investment research. Despite the effectiveness of these quantitative ratings, the risk assessment of certain companies may be further refined by a qualitative examination by
our experienced analyst team.
The financial results of certain companies may be distorted by frequent acquisitions, accounting rule changes, reporting segment changes,
financial engineering, and many other factors. If such distortions are significant, the quantitative ratings generated by Forensic Edge may benefit from a qualitative review
by our analyst team. These qualitative reviews include a manual examination of each area of risk, as well as an examination of internal control data and textual data such as
conference call commentary.
Every qualitative review includes detailed analyst commentary explaining the key qualitative factors examined and the rationale for any
rating adjustments. We encourage dialogue with clients before and after these reviews to discuss their initial thoughts and our findings.
Example qualitative review:
Canada Goose Holdings (GOOS)
